- Use 2 parts water to 1 part rice (2 cups water, 1 cup rice)
- Measure the rice, put in pan.
- Add an inch of water on top, use fingers to swirl water around.
- Pour rice/water into strainer. Rinse it again while it’s in the strainer.
- Return rice to pot, add correct amount of water to pot.
- Stir once.
- Set burner to medium. Do not change heat.
- When it starts to boil, keep an eye until the water level dips below rice (rice is peeking out a bit above water).
- Lay kitchen towel over the pot, then put lid on top of towel. Fold towel over to avoid it burning.
- Turn heat to lowest setting.
- Set timer for 15 minutes.
- When timer goes off, turn heat OFF.
- Set timer for 10 minutes.
- When timer goes off, remove lid and towel. Use fork to fluff rice.
